Treatment Aftercare

Your skincare guide  after your Treatment

Great results don’t stop when your appointment ends. Following the correct aftercare advice helps your skin recover, supports long-lasting results, and reduces the risk of irritation or complications.

General aftercare

  • Keep the treated area clean and avoid touching it unnecessarily.

  • Use gentle, fragrance-free skincare products while your skin settles.

  • Avoid exfoliating, scrubbing, or using strong active ingredients such as retinol or acids until your skin has recovered.

  • Keep your skin well moisturised and drink plenty of water.

  • Avoid excessive heat, including hot baths, saunas, steam rooms and very hot showers, for the recommended period after your treatment.

  • Avoid strenuous exercise immediately after treatments.

  • Protect your skin from direct sunlight and use a SPF 30–50 daily.

  • Do not pick, scratch, peel or squeeze any areas that become dry, flaky or irritated.

Massage aftercare

After a massage, it is normal to feel relaxed, sleepy or slightly tender, particularly if deeper pressure has been used.

  • Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

  • Take some time to relax and allow your body to recover.

  • Gentle movement and stretching can help maintain mobility.

  • Avoid strenuous exercise immediately after a deep or intensive massage if your muscles feel tender.

  • A warm shower or bath may help soothe muscular tension.

  • Avoid excessive alcohol immediately after treatment.

  • If you experience mild muscle soreness, this should generally settle naturally within a day or two.

If you experience persistent, severe or unusual pain, swelling, numbness or other concerning symptoms, please get in touch or seek medical advice.

Anti-Wrinkle injections aftercare

Anti-wrinkle injections require some simple aftercare to help minimise irritation and allow the treatment to settle.

Immediately after and for the first 24-48 hours.

  • Avoid rubbing, pressing or massaging the treated areas.

  • Avoid lying completely flat and bending over.

  • Avoid applying unnecessary pressure to the treated areas.

  • Keep the injection sites clean.

  • Avoid strenuous physical activity.

  • Avoid facial massage or treatments that place pressure on the treated areas.

  • Avoid excessive heat such as saunas, steam rooms and very hot baths.

  • Avoid excessive alcohol consumption.

  • Avoid unnecessary touching or manipulating the injection sites.

Results

Anti-wrinkle treatment does not usually produce its final effect immediately. Results develop gradually over the following days and can continue to settle over approximately two weeks.

Do not repeatedly massage or manipulate the treated areas in an attempt to speed up results.

Temporary redness, tenderness, small bumps or bruising around injection sites can occur.

Seek urgent medical attention if you experience severe or unusual symptoms, particularly significant difficulty breathing or swallowing, severe allergic symptoms, or any sudden change in vision.

Dermal Filler aftercare

Dermal fillers can cause temporary swelling, redness, tenderness or bruising following treatment. These effects can vary depending on the area treated and the individual.

Immediately after and for the first 24-48 hours.

  • Avoid touching, pressing or massaging the treated area.

  • Keep the area clean.

  • Avoid applying makeup directly over fresh injection sites.

  • Do not attempt to manipulate or reshape the filler yourself.

  • Avoid saunas, steam rooms, sunbeds and excessive heat.

  • Avoid strenuous exercise where advised.

  • Avoid alcohol due to bruising or swelling.

  • Avoid facials, facial massage and other treatments that put pressure on the treated area.

  • Avoid sleeping directly on or putting prolonged pressure on the treated area where possible.

  • Use only gentle skincare products.

  • Protect your skin from direct sunlight and use SPF.

Swelling and bruising

Mild swelling, tenderness and bruising are common following filler treatment. Swelling may be more noticeable the following day before gradually improving.

A cool compress wrapped in a clean cloth may be used gently. Do not apply ice directly to the skin or put significant pressure on the treated area.

Results can take time to fully settle.

Important Filler Warning Signs

Although complications are uncommon, certain symptoms require urgent assessment.

Get in contact urgently if you experience increasing or severe pain, significant changes in skin colour, unusual mottling, increasing swelling, blistering, or skin that becomes unusually pale, blue, grey or dark.

Any sudden visual disturbance or loss of vision following facial filler treatment is an emergency and requires immediate medical attention.

Do not wait for your symptoms to improve before seeking help.

Facial Treatments

Your skin may feel warm, tight, slightly sensitive or appear mildly red following a facial. This is usually temporary.

Immediately after and for the first 24-48 hours.

  • Use a gentle cleanser and moisturiser.

  • Avoid exfoliators, scrubs and active skincare ingredients.

  • Avoid excessive heat and prolonged sun exposure.

  • Apply SPF during the day.

  • Avoid introducing new skincare products until your skin has settled.

Allow your skin time to recover before returning to your usual skincare routine.

Waxing

Following waxing, the skin can appear slightly red or feel sensitive.

Immediately after and for the first 24-48 hours.

  • Avoid strenuous exercise, sunbeds, hot baths, showers, saunas and steam rooms.

  • Avoid perfumed products and fragranced lotions directly on the treated area.

  • Avoid excessive sun exposure and apply SPF to exposed areas.

  • Do not rub, scratch or pick at the area.

Once the skin has settled, gentle exfoliation can help reduce the likelihood of ingrown hairs.

Nail Treatments

To protect your pedicure:

  • Avoid long periods of time in water, especially for the first 24-48 hours.

  • Keep nails moisturised with cuticle oil or a suitable foot cream.

  • Do not pick at or peel the gel.
